Job Description:
A Production Engineer optimizes manufacturing processes, manages daily production schedules, and ensures quality standards are met to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. They troubleshoot equipment, implement safety protocols, and collaborate with teams to enhance productivity. Key tasks include data analysis, equipment maintenance, and staff training in manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning: Develop, monitor, and adjust daily production schedules to meet delivery targets.
- Process Optimization:
Analyze manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Quality & Safety Control: Ensure products comply with quality standards and that operations follow safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Address production issues, such as equipment malfunctions, and schedule preventative maintenance.
- Team Collaboration: Work with design, procurement, and operations teams to streamline production and implement new technologies.
- Documentation: Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production records.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, automation systems, and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and quality control techniques.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and team management skills.
Typical Experience
- Relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is usually required, often 2-5+ years depending on the seniority of the role.
