Position: Head – Maintenance Engineering

Role Objective
The Head – Maintenance Engineering will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment availability, plant reliability, and efficient maintenance systems across the manufacturing facility. The role involves leading maintenance teams, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and managing plant utilities and automation systems to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Maintenance Management

Lead and manage the complete maintenance function for plant machinery and equipment.

Ensure minimum machine downtime and maximum plant availability.

Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs.

Monitor and improve equipment performance and reliability.
2. Electrical & Automation Systems
-
Manage maintenance of PLC systems, VFD drives, servo drives, and automation controls.
-
Troubleshoot automation and electrical faults in production machinery.
-
Coordinate with automation teams to improve process efficiency and machine performance.
3. Mechanical Equipment Maintenance
-
Oversee maintenance of extrusion lines, production machinery, rotating equipment, and mechanical systems.

Ensure smooth functioning of gearboxes, motors, bearings, pumps, and mechanical assemblies.

Implement root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring breakdowns.
4. Utilities & Infrastructure Management

Manage plant utilities including:
-
Air compressors
-
Chillers and cooling systems
-
DG sets and electrical distribution systems
-
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
-

Ensure efficient energy utilization and uninterrupted utility supply.
5. Maintenance Planning & Systems
-
Develop and implement annual maintenance plans and shutdown schedules.

Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.

Monitor maintenance KPIs such as:

MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
-
MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
-
6. Team Leadership
-
Lead and develop a team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
-
Conduct training and skill development programs for maintenance staff.
-
Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and operational excellence.
7. Continuous Improvement
-
Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
-
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.
-
Implement process improvements to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering.

Additional certifications in automation, maintenance management, or reliability engineering will be an advantage.
Experience Required
-
15–20 years of experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Strong exposure to industrial automation systems, PLCs, VFD drives, and plant utilities.
