Job Summary
Company is seeking a detail-oriented SMSF Specialist with experience in Australian accounting
to join our growing product and operations team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work
at the intersection of accounting and technology, contributing to product development, testing,
and improvement of our accounting software solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to Australian accounting practices and SMSF
processes, including preparation and review of SMSF accounts. In this role, you will collaborate
with product, engineering, and support teams to ensure the software accurately reflects real-
world SMSF and accounting workflows and meets the needs of Australian accounting firms.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare comprehensive accounting and SMSF test data within accounting software platforms
to support product testing and validation.
• Develop practical use cases and real-world scenarios for effective software testing.
• Replicate customer support queries and issues to identify product improvements.
• Perform release testing for new software updates and features.
• Create test scenarios and test cases, execute test cycles, and document testing outcomes.
• Validate results, identify defects, and collaborate with internal teams for issue resolution.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and support teams to communicate testing findings
and improvement opportunities.
• Provide recommendations to enhance software functionality and user experience for SMSF
and accounting workflows.
• Understand business and product requirements and ensure they are accurately reflected in
testing processes.
• Support production rollout and conduct post-release validation activities.
• Prepare specification documents to support product enhancements and feature
development.
• Document high-level user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Australian accounting, Australian taxation, or SMSF accounting.
• Strong understanding of SMSF compliance, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
• Experience in SMSF account preparation or review is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, development, and support teams.
• Experience working with SMSF administration software such as Class Super, BGL, SuperMate, or similar platforms will be preferred.
