Faculty – Design / Architecture
Job Description:
Overview
We are looking for a creative and academically driven Faculty member in Design / Architecture to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The role involves academic teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, and research contributions in architecture and design disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Instruction

Teach courses related to architectural design, urban planning, construction methods, sustainable design, and architectural theory.

Develop course materials including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and evaluation frameworks.

Conduct studio-based teaching, design workshops, and critique sessions.

Guide students in design projects, research, and thesis development.
Curriculum Development

Contribute to development and revision of curriculum aligned with industry standards and design trends.

Collaborate with faculty members to design new academic programs and courses.
Research & Academic Development

Conduct research in architecture, urban design, or related fields.

Publish research work in academic journals or present findings at conferences.

Encourage students to participate in research activities and design competitions.
Student Mentorship

Provide academic and career guidance to students.

Support students with internship opportunities and professional development.

Provide continuous feedback on academic performance and design projects.
Academic Service & Engagement

Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university initiatives.

Represent the department in conferences, workshops, and academic events.

Support the development of industry collaborations and guest lecture programs.
Professional Development

Stay updated with emerging design tools, technologies, and architectural practices.

Participate in workshops, seminars, and professional development programs.
Education
-
Master’s Degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field.

PhD is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
-
Minimum 1+ years of teaching, research, or professional architectural practice.

Experience with studio-based teaching and project-based learning is highly desirable.

Professional experience in architecture, urban design, interior design, or related fields is an advantage.

Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical expertise.
Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of architectural design principles and construction technologies.

Knowledge of sustainable architecture and green building practices.

Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, or similar software.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Ability to mentor students and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Active involvement in architectural research or design competitions.

Membership in professional bodies such as AIA, RIBA, or equivalent organisations.
