Job Description:

About the Role: Mechanical Project Engineer As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing engineered projects and delivering complete technical design packages. You’ll ensure that designs are compliant, tested, documented, and delivered on time and within budget. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet technical specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations, while supporting innovation and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Engineering • Lead mechanical design and drafting using SolidWorks and AutoCAD • Manage project elements including forecasting, cost, schedule, and billing • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution • Review contracts and ensure alignment with commercial and technical requirements • Design systems and components to meet project specifications and applicable standards (IEC, AS, ISO) Documentation & Compliance • Prepare post-award technical documentation, including drawings and Bills of Materials • Develop manufacturing and as-built documentation • Review material data records and inspection test plans • Support preparation of installation, operation, and maintenance manuals Manufacturing & Testing • Source BOM components using ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX) • Coordinate manufacturing and testing activities with production teams • Develop and execute test procedures for new or modified designs • Validate assemblies and ensure compliance with relevant standards Innovation & Continuous Improvement • Support updates to standard design documentation and specifications • Contribute to strategic and continuous improvement initiatives • Participate in design reviews and propose alternative technical solutions About You Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • 4–5 years of experience in mechanical design or project engineering • Experience with design houses, contractors, or vendors preferred Skills & Competencies • Strong understanding of mechanical and structural design principles • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and MS Project • Basic knowledge of Mathcad • Strong CAD modelling and design-for-manufacture skills • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality systems • Clear communicator with good stakeholder management skills • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive team player • Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, or project execution as required • Exposure to standards such as ASME, ISO, PD 5500, EN 13445, and NACE MR0175 is an advantage
