Job Description:

Purpose of the Role
To provide operational leadership for end-to-end manufacturing operations, covering Pre-
Kiln and Post-Kiln processes & Engineering ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective, and
high-quality production aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Manufacturing Leadership
 Head complete manufacturing operations, including Slip House, Shaping, Drying,
kiln firing, Glazing, assembly, testing, Cutting & grinding etc.
 Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals for
productivity, quality, cost, safety, and delivery.
 Drive operational excellence across all manufacturing functions.

2. Pre-Kiln Operations
 Oversee raw material preparation, slip house, shaping, drying,glazing and kiln
processes.
 Ensure process stability, yield optimization, and reduction of rejections/wastage.
 Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cycle time.
 Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and safety norms.

3. Kiln & Post-Kiln Operations
 Ensure effective operation of kilns, including firing cycles, fuel efficiency, and
temperature control.
 Oversee post-kiln activities such as assembly,cutting & grinding, testing and
inspection.
 Reduce post-kiln defects, handling damage, and rework.
 Optimize production, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.

4. Quality & Process Excellence
 Ensure compliance with quality systems (ISO & other relevant standards).
 Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major quality and process issues.
 Collaborate with QA, R&D, and Engineering teams for product and process
improvements.

5. Cost, Productivity & Efficiency
 Control manufacturing cost, including energy, manpower, consumables, and
maintenance.
 Improve OEE, yield, and productivity metrics.
 Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 Monitor and achieve budgeted targets.

6. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
 Ensure strict compliance with statutory, safety, health, and environmental regulations.
 Promote a strong safety culture across all manufacturing areas.
 Lead initiatives to reduce accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

7. Manpower & Leadership Development
 Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers, engineers, and shop-floor teams.
 Build a strong succession pipeline for key manufacturing roles.
 Ensure effective manpower planning, skill development, and performance
management in coordination with HR.
 Maintain healthy IR/ER in coordination with HR.

8. Cross-Functional Coordination
 Work closely with Maintenance, Projects, Engineering, HR, and Finance.
 Support new product development, capacity expansion, and plant modernization
projects.
 Provide regular MIS, performance reviews, and strategic inputs to Top Management.

Qualification & Experience
Educational Qualification
 B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing.
 MBA in Operations/Manufacturing is an added advantage.
 Experience – 25 yrs – 35 yrs
