CNC Turning Operator

Job Description:

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning machines (Lathe) to manufacture precision parts according to technical drawings and specifications.

• Perform machine setup, tool setting, and offset adjustments for production runs.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

• Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and productivity.

• Conduct in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

• Maintain proper documentation of production output and machine parameters.

• Identify and report machine issues, tool wear, or quality deviations to the supervisor.

• Ensure proper machine maintenance and cleanliness of the work area.

• Follow safety procedures and company manufacturing standards.

• Work closely with the production and quality team to meet daily production targets.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of CNC Turning / Lathe Machine operations.

• Ability to read technical drawings and measurements.

• Familiarity with cutting tools, inserts, and tooling setups.

• Understanding of basic CNC programming (G-code / M-code) is an advantage.

• Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.

• Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and detail.

• Ability to work in shift-based manufacturing environments.

Educational Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Machinist / Turner or equivalent technical qualification.
