A Site Engineer in real estate manages on-site construction activities, bridging the gap between design plans and physical execution. Key responsibilities include supervising subcontractors, ensuring quality/safety compliance, material management, and adhering to budgets and timelines. They require civil engineering knowledge, CAD proficiency, and strong problem-solving skills to ensure projects are built accurately and safely.
- Site Supervision: Managing daily on-site construction activities, supervising workers, and coordinating subcontractors.
- Technical Implementation: Interpreting structural drawings, blueprints, and layouts to ensure construction complies with design specifications.
- Quality & Safety Control: Conducting quality checks on materials and structural work while ensuring adherence to health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Progress Tracking: Monitoring project schedules, ensuring milestones are met, and submitting regular progress reports to project managers.
- Problem-Solving: Resolving technical difficulties and on-site issues to prevent delays.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of work done, material consumption, and site diaries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar site engineer role within a real estate or construction firm.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software, and knowledge of construction materials.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
- Setting out site layout, surveys, and site grading.
- Negotiating with vendors and contractors.
- Ensuring compliance with local regulations and building codes.
- Budgeting and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
