Sr. Technical Software Support ( QA & Testing)
Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Sr. Technical Software Support (QA & Testing) is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through rigorous testing and technical support. The role involves working closely with development teams, identifying defects, ensuring timely resolution, and supporting end-users with technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Testing
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Perform manual and automated testing (functional, regression, integration, UAT support)
- Identify, log, and track bugs using defect tracking tools
- Ensure product quality meets defined standards before release
- Conduct API testing, database validation, and performance checks
2. Technical Support
- Provide L2/L3 support for software applications
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues reported by users or clients
- Coordinate with development teams for bug fixes and enhancements
- Maintain issue logs and ensure timely closure
3. Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts
- Participate in requirement analysis and provide QA inputs
- Support release cycles, deployment validation, and post-release monitoring
4. Automation & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks (if applicable)
- Suggest improvements in QA processes, tools, and methodologies
- Ensure adherence to QA standards, documentation, and best practices
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare test reports, defect reports, and QA documentation
- Maintain test case repositories and version control
- Provide regular updates on testing progress and quality metrics
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (STLC, SDLC)
- Experience with manual and automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestNG)
- Understanding of API testing tools (Postman, Swagger)
- Basic knowledge of SQL / database queries
- Familiarity with bug tracking systems
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in automation frameworks
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience in cloud-based applications
