A. Purpose /Essential Role: Describe in ONE phrase what contribution the job is expected to
make to the organisation’s objectives
Operate WWTP in co-ordination with WWTP Manager & operators to ensure treated waste water quality is in
compliance with “Consent to operate” specified by state pollution control board, while taking care of safety &
housekeeping, support & lead the team of WWTP for the best performance, with zero tolerance to non-
compliance.
B. Environment/Context/Complexity of the job: Describe the most important internal and external

Internal:
Compliance to INEOS Styrolution ‘SHE guidelines’.
Compliance to Quality standard ISO 9001 and Environment Management System (ISO 14001).
Compliance of Energy standard ISO 50001 for efficient use of energy.
Inter-site and company best practices transfer.
Effluent load characteristics, plant stability

External:
SOP’s in place to deliver required analysis & treatment chemicals for continuous operations of WWTP.
Supply of Utilities may be disrupted by external service providers e.g. Electricity, Water, VECL (channel
carrying treated effluent) etc.
Changes to legal requirements & treated water specifications: To ensure managing changes and
implementation.

C. Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the job: Describe the main results expected from the job
1. Key Result Areas: Key Result Areas: Incident free operations, Adherence to INEOS Styrolution SHE
guidelines, Compliance with local regulations.
Major Activities:
 Participate on regular safety training at site:
o Safety rules and guidelines
o Operating procedures
o Permit to work and Risk Assessment, etc.
o Incident sharing and learning
 Active support to the safety culture at site and work safely for incident free operation.
 Understand and follow annual SHE improvement plan for the site.
 Work in line with SHE KPIs and Targets set by management at all the times.
 Contribute to Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program at site.
o Participate on training at site to take BBSO to next level of understanding and
communicating.

 Support Site SHE committee to resolve safety issues and drive SHE performance.
 Be conscious that all incidents including Near Miss at site must be reported, investigated and
action items must be tracked to closure.
o Active use of KMS for incident reporting and investigation, MOC, action item tracking
o Collaborate to track and close all SHE related action items from audit, plant walkthroughs.
 Support the Asset Manager, responsible for the overall integrity of the site.
o Contribute to INEOS Styrolution Asset Care program
o Take responsibility for maintaining the asset and integrity of the protective system.
 Follow site procedures aligned with INEOS Group Guidance Notes (IGGNs).
 Accountable for
o Following and practicing INEOS 20 principles of Behavior Safety and Process Safety at
site through site rules and procedures
o Following and practicing Life Saving Rules at site
o Safety of other Employees, Contractors, Visitors and partners at site
o Following Permit to Work as per the site procedure
o Following Management of Change (MOC) as per the site procedure.
 Responsible for
o Participating in Risk Assessment at site as per procedure
o Tracking action items from Risk Assessment to closure.
 Work in compliance with all legal regulations.
o Adherence to site licenses and permits.
 Participate on the INEOS Styrolution Sustainability program at site.
 Stop work whenever there is an unsafe condition and immediately inform the Shift Leader and/or
Head of Department.
 Directly intervene with those in your working area not using PPE or not following INEOS
Styrolution standards and procedures.
 Maintain the respective workplace in order and clean, as per best practices of housekeeping.
Outcome: Zero incident/accident in the plant with sustainable and safe operation.

2. Key Result Areas: Day to day operations & monitoring of WWTP plant

Major Activities :
 Analysis of waste water samples, treated water samples.
 Attending break down maintenance at WWTP (Coordination with concerned service department)
 Documentation and record keeping as per site policies and statutory requirement.
 Monitoring & analysis of different plant Streams waste water & record keeping.
 Maintain operational records, chemical consumption monitoring on day to day base in logbook.
Outcome:
 Smooth operation of WWTP without upsets and stoppages
3. Key Result Areas: Coordination for Work place Monitoring
Major Activities:
 To coordinate with external Environment monitoring agency and compile data / report
 To carry out workplace monitoring & Noise monitoring at regular frequency at different place &
maintain its record.
 Documentation of environmental data as per site standard practices.
 Maintain monitoring frequency at regular interval to compliance of legal requirements.
Outcome:
Timely workplace monitoring as per the legal requirements and submission followed by corrective
measures.
4. Key Result Areas: Hazardous waste management: Handling, temporary storage and disposal
Major Activities:
 To monitor and maintain the record of Hazardous. waste generated & disposal as per hazardous
waste category and prepare monthly log sheet register and in soft copy
 Coordinate and arrange disposal of hazardous waste generated at site as per hazardous waste
management and handling rules. To ensure waste storage is managed for handling daily waste
generated at site.
 Ensure implementation on changes in hazardous waste disposal procedure issued from time to
time
 Ensure waste is stored in adequate containments and segregated as per compatibility at all times.
Outcome:
To maintain monitoring schedule for proper housekeeping at satisfactory level, Maintaining of
hazardous waste & follow safety instructions and procedures during hazardous waste handling
5. Key Result Areas: Coordination with other departments
Major Activities: Support Maintenance department during break downs of Equipment’s & plant shut
downs.
Outcome: Minimize down time of WWTP
6. Key Result Areas: Appropriate Communication
Major Activities:
 Perform clear communication when communicating to WWTP Manager during troubleshooting of
problems. Communicate properly with Plant Manager, HODs (Head of Departments) and
employees of other departments (Mechanical, Utilities, Electrical, Instrumentation, HR, Security,
SHE, Stores & Warehouse, Quality) to avoid confusion and improve response to issues.
Outcome: Improve quality of communication for intended implementation of plans, investigations, and
improvements

F. Required profile:
Level of education & Knowledge:
 B.Sc. (chemistry / Environment science)
 Hindi and Gujarati
 English (desired).
Experience in general:
 3-4 Years of relevant WWTP operation and exposure of Safety & Environmental management
system
Technical skills:
 Safety awareness
 WWTP operation & Troubleshooting
 Operation of WWTP parameters monitoring and measurement equipment’s
 Interaction with Maintenance Department to shutdown/prepare the equipment for maintenance work
and return it back to operating condition.
 Computer basic skill for MS office will be preferred.

Competencies, Behavioral skills:
 Positive attitude towards safety norms and work procedures for self and others.
 Ability to understand and implement SOP’s
 Responsible and reliable.
 Communication skill - verbal & written
Legal Training Requirements:
 Under the provision (111-A) of the Factories Act 1948, reading with Gujarat Factory Rules 1963
about General Health & Safety, Emergency response, handling of hazardous substance
Job Requirements:
 Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
 Walking up to 8 hours a day
 Must be able to lift up to 25 kg.
 Must be able to work in confined spaces
