Job Description:

Position:    Dy. Manager/Manager - Purchase

Location:      Bhuj

Experience:    10 -15 Years

Industries:     Chemical

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Procurement
  • Procure mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and MRO items
  • Pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers
  • Motors, cables, panels, transformers
  • Instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, control systems)
  • Handle procurement of spares for plant maintenance and shutdowns
  • Manage capex/project procurement (new plant / expansion)
  • Vendor Development & Management
  • Develop OEMs, authorized dealers, and fabricators
  • Evaluate vendors based on technical capability, quality, and cost
  • Conduct technical discussions with suppliers along with engineering team
  • Maintain approved vendor list (AVL)
  • Techno-Commercial Evaluation
  • Analyze technical specifications, drawings, BOQs
  • Prepare comparative statements (techno-commercial)
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms
  • Finalize purchase orders and contracts
  • Project Procurement (Capex)
  • Handle procurement for EPC projects, plant expansion, and installation
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams
  • Ensure timely delivery aligned with project schedules
  • Cost Optimization
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through:
  • Vendor development
  • Import substitution
  • Standardization of materials
  • Monitor market trends for engineering equipment
  • Inventory & Maintenance Support
  • Ensure availability of critical spares to avoid breakdowns
  • Coordinate with maintenance team for planning shutdown materials
  • Optimize inventory levels of engineering items
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety norms
  • Manage documentation: PO, drawings, inspection reports
  • Handle import documentation if required
  • Cross-functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Stores, Finance
  • Resolve technical and commercial issues with vendors

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of engineering equipment & plant machinery
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of SAP MM / ERP systems
  • Familiarity with EPC/project procurement cycles
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills

Required Qualification: - B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical

Salary: - Upto 20.00 LPA
