Job Description:
- Production & Operations: Lead end-to-end DRI/Sponge Iron kiln production to meet company targets, ensuring quality, cost control, and supply chain efficiency.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to optimize raw material usage, improve production processes, and align operations with business goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations, health and safety protocols (HSE), and legal standards within the plant.
- Maintenance & Equipment: Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance of kilns and machinery to minimize downtime.
- Team Leadership: Manage a large workforce, including senior managers and engineers, driving a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
- Experience: 25 years in the steel industry, with substantial experience in SID/DRI or heavy manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of kiln operations, raw material consumption, and steel plant technology.
- Leadership Skills: Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and ability to manage complex operations.
- Qualifications: Typically a degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related technical field is preferred, often with experience at the GM or VP level.

Company Profile
The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
