Job Description:
A Senior Store Officer in a Ferro Alloys Manufacturing company is responsible for managing the end-to-end store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and conducting inventory audits of raw materials (manganese ore, chrome ore, coke, coal) and finished products (silico manganese, ferro chrome). This role requires ensuring high inventory accuracy, adhering to safety protocols, and using ERP systems (like SAP) to maintain operational efficiency. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, implement FIFO/FEFO (First-In-First-Out) practices, conduct regular physical counts/cycle counts, and reconcile inventory discrepancies in the ERP system.
  • Material Receipt & Inspection: Oversee the unloading, identification, and quality inspection of incoming raw materials and consumables in coordination with the Quality Control department.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN), Material Requisition Slips, and weekly/monthly inventory reconciliation reports.
  • Production Support: Liaise with production and maintenance teams to ensure the timely issuance of materials, preventing stockouts.
  • Storage & Housekeeping: Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and storage of materials according to ISO/SOP standards, ensuring the store is clean and safe.
  • Dispatch Management: Supervise the loading and dispatch of finished goods, preparing necessary documents like gate passes and tax invoices.
  • Team Supervision: Guide, train, and manage subordinate store staff. 
     
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Graduate (b.com) or Diploma in Materials Management/Logistics.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably with prior experience in the ferro alloys, steel, or chemical industry.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience in ERP systems (SAP MM Module) is mandatory.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills for inventory reconciliation, excellent coordination skills, and knowledge of safety protocols (e.g., handling heavy/hazardous materials). 
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Inventory accuracy percentage (Physical vs. System).
  • Stockout frequency (Zero stockout target).
  • Timely completion of month-end inventory reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of stock levels within min/max criteria.
