Job Description:

Responsibilities of the Role
 Writing and editing: Writing, reviewing, and editing of news articles for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and
style adherence. Crafting engaging headlines and summaries that accurately represent the content.
 Fact-checking: Verifying information and sources to maintain the credibility of news content.
 Content coordination: Collaborating with companies, industry associates,’ getting in touch with industry
leaders, R&D departments, etc. to develop and refine news stories.
 Publication management: Assisting in the scheduling and publishing of news content across various
platforms, website social media, etc.
 Coverage planning: Participating in editorial meetings to pitch story ideas, discuss coverage priorities, and
plan upcoming content.
 Breaking news response: Assisting in the rapid coverage of breaking news events, including updating and
distributing news alerts.
 Audience engagement: Monitoring audience feedback and analytics to identify areas for improvement and
reader interest.

Desired skills
 Excellent strength in English vocabulary, with exceptional command over writing and communication
 Knowledge of SEO best practices for online content optimisation
 Knowledge of the commodity market would be an advantage
 Knowledge of AP style and other journalistic standards
 Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing platforms
 Proneness to in-depth research and data verification
 Commitment to journalistic ethics and integrity
Experience and qualification:

● 5+ years of experience in journalism and communications, preferably in the field of finance or business
news writing
● Bachelors or Masters degree in economics or sociology would be preferred
● MBA Finance would be in an advantageous position
● Experience with multimedia storytelling, including video and audio production
● Previous experience in a newsroom environment
