Junior Engineer – Direct Purchase & Sourcing

🎯 Role Objective

To manage procurement of direct materials (raw materials, components) required for production, ensuring cost, quality, and timely availability.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

🛒 Direct Procurement

• Handle purchase of raw materials & machine components
• Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs)
• Ensure materials are available as per production schedules

🤝 Vendor Management

• Identify and develop new suppliers
• Maintain relationships with existing vendors
• Evaluate vendors based on:
  • Cost
  • Quality
  • Delivery performance

👉 Sourcing roles typically involve continuous vendor development and negotiation

💰 Costing & Negotiation

• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts
• Work on cost reduction initiatives
• Compare quotations and finalize suppliers

📦 Material Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with:
  • PPC (Production Planning)
  • Stores
  • Quality
• Ensure on-time delivery of materials to avoid production delays

📊 Documentation & ERP Handling

• Maintain procurement records, RFQs, POs
• Work on ERP systems (SAP commonly used)
• Track order status, delivery timelines, and inventory
