Hiring | Business Development / Sales Manager – Oil & Gas

Location: India
Experience: 9+ Years
Industry: Oil & Gas / Upstream / Oilfield Services

We are currently hiring for a Business Development / Sales Manager opportunity within the Oil & Gas sector, focused on driving business growth, strengthening operator relationships, and expanding market presence across India.

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who combines strong technical exposure in upstream / well services with commercial acumen, client relationship management, and tendering expertise.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth by identifying and developing opportunities across the Oil & Gas / Upstream market
  • Build and strengthen relationships with major oil operators, NOCs, and key clients across India
  • Identify, track, and source tendering opportunities from leading oil and gas companies
  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end tender participation, including documentation, compliance, and bid submissions
  • Manage both onshore and offshore business opportunities
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, sales strategies, and performance forecasts
  • Structure competitive commercial proposals and pricing strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Participate in commercial discussions, negotiations, and contract finalization
  • Act as the key interface between clients and internal execution teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Monitor, market, and promote products / services in the assigned region or business area to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Support the delivery of services in line with contractual, quality, safety, and profitability targets
  • Develop strategic partnerships and alliances to position the business for key industry contracts
  • Ensure preparation of regular business activity, sales, and financial performance reports
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HSEQ, and Commercial

 

Operational & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Support business performance by contributing to budget planning, forecasting, and margin improvement
  • Monitor direct and indirect cost structures to support profitability and cash flow optimization
  • Oversee and align support functions relevant to the business area, including Finance, Supply Chain, HSEQ, and Operations
  • Contribute to workforce development through mentoring, coaching, and performance support where required
  • Promote strong client, partner, and local community relationships
  • Ensure adherence to company policies related to Code of Conduct, Ethics, Anti-Bribery, Quality, and Compliance
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and support a culture of accountability and safe operations

 

Required Experience & Expertise

  • 9+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas / Upstream / Oilfield Services sector
  • Proven experience in Business Development / Sales / Commercial / Account Management
  • Hands-on technical or operational exposure in one or more of the following areas:
    • Well Intervention
    • Well Production
    • Well Testing
    • Well Flow Management
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Tendering processes
    • Proposal development
    • Commercial structuring
    • Pricing strategy
    • Contract negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and drive revenue growth
  • Experience working with oil operators, NOCs, and upstream clients
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance business growth and operational delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for professionals who have worked in Oilfield Services / Well Services / Upstream Operations and have successfully transitioned into or built strong experience in sales, business development, tendering, and client management.

Candidates with exposure to operator-facing roles, bid management, proposal submissions, and strategic account development will be especially relevant.
