Quality Supervisor
Job Description:
Your Key Responsibilities
● In-Process Quality Supervision ○ Supervise quality inspection activities on the shop floor ensure products meet defined quality standards during production. ○ Monitor machine output and verify that molded parts meet dimensional, visual, and functional specifications. ● Product Inspection and Defect Control ○ Inspect finished plastic products for defects such as short molding, flash, color variation, burn marks, shrinkage, or deformation. ○ Ensure defective products are identified, segregated, and prevented from moving to dispatch. ● Quality Documentation and Records ○ Maintain inspection records, quality check reports, rejection logs, and daily quality MIS for production batches. ○ Ensure proper documentation of quality checks for traceability and internal review. ● Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions ○ Investigate product defects or quality deviations and coordinate with production and maintenance teams to identify root causes. ○ Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring quality issues. ● Quality SOP Implementation ○ Ensure adherence to defined quality inspection procedures, product specifications, and internal quality standards across the production floor. ○ Monitor compliance with quality control processes and maintain discipline in inspection activities. ● Team Supervision ○ Guide and supervise quality inspectors or operators performing inspection activities. ○ Ensure the inspection team follows proper testing procedures, documentation practices, and quality standards. ● Coordination with Production ○ Work closely with production supervisors to monitor process stability and ensure quality requirements are maintained during manufacturing. ○ Provide immediate feedback to production teams in case of quality deviations. ● Rejection and Quality Performance Monitoring ○ Track product rejection levels and analyze trends to identify improvement opportunities. ○ Prepare reports on defect types, rejection rates, and quality performance for internal review. ● Customer and Dispatch Quality Assurance ○ Ensure final products released for dispatch meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements. ○ Support quality checks before shipment to prevent customer complaints or returns.
What Makes You a Fit Educational Qualification
● Bachelor's Degree / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastic Technology, or related field (preferred) ● Basic understanding of quality inspection methods, plastic product specifications, and manufacturing processes will be an advantage. Skills ● Strong understanding of quality inspection processes in plastic injection molding and plastic manufacturing environments. ● Ability to identify visual and dimensional defects in molded plastic products, such as flash, short molding, shrinkage, color variation, burn marks, and deformation. ● Knowledge of basic quality control techniques, inspection procedures, and product specification verification. ● Ability to maintain quality inspection records, rejection reports, and production quality documentation with accuracy. ● Basic understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring quality problems. ● Ability to supervise quality inspectors or shop floor staff and ensure adherence to quality SOPs and inspection standards. Experience ● 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control in plastic injection molding or plastic manufacturing environments. ● Practical exposure to inspecting molded plastic products for visual and dimensional defects such as flash, short molding, shrinkage, color variation, burn marks, and deformation. ● Experience in conducting in-process and final product inspections to ensure compliance with defined quality standards and customer specifications. ● Familiarity with maintaining quality inspection reports, rejection logs, and coordinating with production teams to resolve quality issues on the shop floor.
