HEAD – ACCOUNTS (GST & COMPLIANCE)-Ambarnath
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. GST Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure end-to-end compliance with GST laws, rules & regulations
- Timely and accurate filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Returns, Reconciliations, and other statutory requirements
- Manage Input Tax Credit (ITC), reversals, reconciliations, and documentation
- Track and implement latest GST amendments, notifications, and circulars
2. Handling GST Notices & Litigation
- Review, draft, and reply to GST notices including Audit (ADT), Assessment (ASMT), DRC, Scrutiny, and other queries
- Prepare submissions and represent the company before GST authorities
- Coordinate with legal and tax consultants on complex matters
3. Government Liaison & Compliance
- Act as the primary point of contact with government departments including:
- GST Department
- Customs Department
- Pollution Control Board
- Other regulatory bodies related to chemical manufacturing
- Facilitate inspections, audits, and departmental visits
- Ensure timely compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
4. Import & Export Documentation
- Manage and review end-to-end documentation for imports & exports, including:
- Bill of Entry, Shipping Bills, Invoices, Packing Lists
- LUT/Bond compliance
- Export incentives, refunds, and duty drawbacks
- Ensure compliance with GST on exports (zero-rated supplies) and refund processes
- Liaise with CHAs, banks, and logistics partners
5. Commercial & Accounts Management
- Oversee all commercial, accounting, and financial operations
- Maintain strict control on expenses, costing, and financial discipline
- Ensure proper documentation, billing, and compliance for all transactions
- Provide financial insights and support management in decision-making
6. Internal Controls & Reporting
- Establish and strengthen internal controls and audit systems
- Conduct regular reconciliations: GST vs Books, Vendor Reconciliation, and other accounts
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Qualification
- CA Preferred
- (CMA / MBA – Finance may also apply)
Experience
- 8–15 years in Accounts, GST & Compliance
- Preferably in the manufacturing industry
Industry Preference
- Experience in Chemical Manufacturing or Process Industry is highly preferred
CORE EXPERTISE
- In-depth knowledge of GST laws, compliance, and litigation
- Handling departmental notices (Audit, Assessment, DRC, etc.)
- Import & Export documentation and procedures
- Practical knowledge of customs laws and export benefit schemes
- Government liaison and regulatory compliance
