Job Description:
A Shift Incharge E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) in a steel manufacturing company oversees daily electrical/instrumentation maintenance, ensures equipment uptime (PLC/SCADA, power distribution), and manages safety protocols during their shift. They coordinate maintenance teams, troubleshoot faults, and ensure operational efficiency in environments like steel melting shops or power plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Control: Oversee E&I operations, ensuring high availability of critical equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and repair electrical faults, PLC/SCADA issues, and instrumentation failures, such as those listed in.
- Maintenance Management: Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance, handle breakdowns, and ensure spare parts availability.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, including work permits, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Shift Management: Supervise technicians, coordinate with production departments, and provide detailed reports on shift activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Experience: Generally 6+ years in a steel plant, DRI plant, or heavy industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in PLC/SCADA systems, power distribution networks, PID controllers, and instrumentation.
- Leadership: Strong team management and troubleshooting skills.
