Job Description:
An MIS (Management Information Systems) Officer in a steel manufacturing company manages data, generates daily/monthly reports (sales, production, inventory), and maintains databases to support business decisions. Key duties include utilizing MS Excel and SAP for data analysis, ensuring data integrity, and automating reports to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Reporting: Collect, validate, and maintain accurate data regarding daily production, raw materials, inventory, and sales.
- Report Generation: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
- System Maintenance: Oversee the functionality of MIS software, databases, and IT infrastructure.
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Create analytical reports and graphs using MS Excel, VBA, Power BI, or Tableau to identify trends and operational bottlenecks.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Liaise with production, sales, finance, and HR departments to gather data and provide insights.
- Data Security: Ensure the security and backup of all digital records.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Software Skills: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is highly preferred.
- Data Analysis: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Experience: Generally requires 4+ years of experience in data management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
