Job Description:
A Raw Material Planning Engineer (SAP PP) is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted, cost-efficient supply of raw materials to meet production schedules, utilizing SAP ERP systems for Material Requirements Planning (MRP), inventory control, and supplier communication. This role typically sits within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) or Purchase department, focusing on minimizing stock levels while preventing shortages.
Key Responsibilities
- MRP Execution & Scheduling: Running SAP MRP (Single/Multi-level) to generate planned orders and purchase requisitions based on production requirements.
- Inventory Control: Maintaining optimal stock levels, reducing dead stock, and achieving plant inventory KPIs.
- Supplier Communication: Daily interaction with suppliers for RM call-offs, tracking deliveries, and ensuring timely receipt using SAP transactional reports.
- SAP Master Data Maintenance: Managing Master Data relevant to production planning, including BOM (Bill of Materials), Work Centres, and Routings.
- Logistics & Documentation: Handling import raw material planning, coordinating with logistics teams to resolve shortages, and managing inward logistics.
- Change Management: Participating in Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to update stock status and ensure correct material usage.
- System Upgrades & Testing: Conducting unit tests, integration tests, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for SAP PP upgrades.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical or Production preferred) or Diploma in Engineering.
- SAP Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience in SAP PP module, specifically in MRP, BOM, Material Master, and Production Orders.
- Industry Experience: 3-7 years of experience in SCM or Production Planning within the Automotive or Manufacturing industry.
