Job Description:

Role Summary

The Logistics Executive will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end logistics operations within the plant—from order confirmation to final shipment dispatch—ensuring timely, cost-effective, and safe delivery of products across domestic and export markets. The role involves close collaboration with Sales, Production, Warehousing, Packaging, Transporters, and Customers/Distributors to enhance delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Logistics Coordination & Execution

  • Manage logistics activities for all customer orders across business units.
  • Coordinate the entire shipment lifecycle: Sales Order → Production Readiness → Packaging → Dispatch → Delivery.
  • Ensure the right product reaches the right customer at the right time and cost.
  • Liaise with customers, distributors, freight partners, and internal stakeholders for dispatch planning.

Packaging & Material Planning

  • Design and select appropriate export and domestic packaging solutions.
  • Plan and raise packing material requirements while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
  • Optimize packaging methods to improve shipment safety and reduce logistics costs.

Warehousing & Material Handling

  • Ensure safe storage and movement of finished goods prior to dispatch.
  • Optimize material handling practices within the plant warehouse.
  • Support dispatch readiness through proper staging and coordination.

Transport Planning & Cost Optimization

  • Select the most suitable mode of transportation (road/air/sea).
  • Negotiate freight rates with transporters and logistics vendors.
  • Monitor shipment costs and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Support freight costing, rate contracts, and logistics budgeting.

Export Documentation & Compliance 

  • Handle documentation for domestic and export shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with Incoterms, customs regulations, and statutory shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, insurers, and transport agencies.

Process Compliance & Quality Standards

  • Follow company SOPs, ISO standards, and HSEQ guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with logistics and safety processes within plant operations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Production, Planning, Stores, Finance, and Dispatch teams.
  • Coordinate with shop-floor staff including skilled and semi-skilled workers.
  • Build strong customer and internal stakeholder relationships.

Required Qualifications 

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce OR Diploma in Engineering
  • 4–5 years of experience in plant logistics / engineering industry logistics
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Incoterms
    • Export & domestic shipment documentation
    • Freight coordination processes
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional plant environment

Preferred

  • Experience working in SAP environment
  • Exposure to:
    • Freight costing
    • Rate contracts
    • Transit insurance and claims handling

Travel

  • Minimal travel within India

Flexibility

  • Willingness to support after-hours coordination when required for dispatch operations
