A Mechanical Project Engineer in the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of pharma projects (OSD/Injectable), focusing on HVAC systems, cleanroom infrastructure, and mechanical utilities. The role involves managing installations, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, and coordinating with cross-functional teams for smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Execution:
Oversee design and implementation of HVAC systems, cleanroom setups, and mechanical utilities (chilled water, compressed air, etc.) as per project requirements. - Project Execution:
Handle end-to-end project activities including planning, scheduling, site execution, and resource management. - Vendor & Contractor Management:
Supervise mechanical contractors, fabrication, ducting, piping, and installation activities at site. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all systems comply with GMP guidelines, cleanroom classifications, and pharma industry standards. - Cross-functional Coordination:
Coordinate with electrical, process, and civil teams to ensure seamless project integration. - Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve issues related to HVAC performance, airflow, pressure differentials, and utilities. - Commissioning & Validation:
Support commissioning, HVAC balancing, and validation activities (DQ, IQ, OQ).
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cleanroom design, and pharma utilities
- Understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements
- Experience in ducting, piping layouts, and site execution
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (basic level acceptable)
- Strong coordination and site management skills
Preferred Background:
- Experience in pharma projects (OSD / Injectable facilities)
- Exposure to cleanroom validation and HVAC qualification
