Job Description:
A BDS Dentist in a hospital setting provides comprehensive oral healthcare, including examinations, restorations, extractions, and emergency care. They develop treatment plans, maintain patient records, adhere to strict sterilization (NABH) standards, and often collaborate with medical staff. Common duties involve diagnosing diseases, scaling, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Procedures: Perform dental examinations, fillings, restorations, extractions, scaling, and root canals.
- Treatment Planning: Diagnose dental conditions and create comprehensive treatment plans.
- Emergency Care: Provide dental care to emergency, trauma, or inpatient cases.
- Sterilization: Ensure strict compliance with NABH, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and treatment history.
- Patient Care: Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventative measures.
Qualifications:
- Degree: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a recognized institution.
- License: Valid registration with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or local authority.
- Experience: Previous clinical experience (usually 1–5+ years) in a hospital or clinic is often preferred.
Key Skills:
- Technical: Proficiency in restorative dentistry, oral diagnosis, and dental imaging.
- Manual Dexterity: High level of precision and coordination.
