Job Description:
A Steel Structural QC Supervisor oversees quality activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards (e.g., ISO) through inspection, testing, and team leadership. Responsibilities include inspecting raw materials and finished goods, managing QC inspectors, conducting audits, and issuing non-conformance reports.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Inspections & Testing: Perform and supervise visual inspections and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) on structural steel, including welding, fabrication, and coatings.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), material test reports, and quality dossiers.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to project specifications, ISO standards, and safety regulations (e.g., API 580).
- Team Leadership: Supervise QC inspectors, manage subcontractor quality control, and provide technical guidance.
- Corrective Actions: Identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Client Coordination: Liaise with clients for inspections, site walk-throughs, and quality issue resolution.
Typical Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field.
- Experience: 3–10 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, pressure vessels, or NDT inspection.
- Certifications: Often requires welding inspection certifications such as AWS CWI or CSWIP.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, structural codes, and NDT methods (RT, UT, PT, MT).
- Skills: Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and proficiency in MS Office.

The entity is engaged in setting up a Greenfield project at Mudpar --- Rampura villages in the Nawagarh tehsil, Bemetara district (near Mungeli), which includes 2×350 TPD DRI (sponge iron) kilns --- an 18-MW WHRB-based captive --- plant.
