Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly proactive and assertive Logistics Executive with strong B/L tracking capabilities to ensure complete control over shipment documentation and movement. The role demands aggressive follow-ups, close monitoring of Bills of Lading, and end-to-end coordination with stakeholders to avoid delays and ensure timely, accurate delivery of shipments from origin to destination.
Job Responsibility
- Review and verify draft Bills of Lading for accuracy
- Ensure correctness of shipper, consignee, cargo details, quantity, and ports
- Coordinate for amendments, telex release, or surrender of B/L
- Track shipments through B/L and shipping line updates
- Monitor ETD, ETA, and overall transit status
- Provide timely updates to internal teams and clients
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHAs, suppliers, and customers
- Ensure seamless communication and document flow
- Follow up on pending documents and shipment updates
- Maintain and organize all shipping documents (B/L, invoice, packing list, etc.)
- Ensure timely submission for customs clearance
- Track dispatch and receipt of original B/L documents
- Identify delays, discrepancies, or documentation errors
- Take corrective actions and coordinate for quick resolution
- Escalate critical issues to management when necessary
- Coordinate with CHA for smooth customs clearance
- Ensure timely submission of documents to avoid demurrage/detention
- Track cargo arrival and final delivery status
- Maintain daily shipment tracking reports
- Update status sheets (B/L status, ETA, delays, etc.)
- Share regular updates and reports with management
Skills, Experience and Qualification Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 1–4 years of experience in import/export logistics
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, especially Bills of Lading
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in MS Excel and email communication
