In-House Sales Executive / Key Account Executve (Industrial B2B – Steel)
Job Description:
We are hiring an In-House Sales Executive / Key Account Manager to manage and grow relationships with existing B2B customers in the steel segment. The role focuses on inquiry handling, quotation management, order conversion, dispatch coordination, customer servicing, and payment follow-ups.
This is a relationship-driven office-based sales role supporting key customers such as fabricators, OEMs, PEB companies, traders, and project clients, ensuring smooth execution from inquiry to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Key Account Management
- Handle existing B2B customers and maintain strong relationships
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
- Increase share of business from existing customers
- Support repeat business generation
2. Inquiry Handling & Quotation Management
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly
- Prepare quotations based on customer requirements
- Understand technical specifications such as:
- Thickness
- Width
- Grade
- Application usage
- Coordinate with internal teams for pricing confirmation
3. Order Conversion & Execution Support
- Convert inquiries into confirmed orders
- Follow up with customers for order closures
- Coordinate internally for:
- Stock availability
- Processing / cutting requirements
- Dispatch planning
Ensure smooth order execution and timely delivery
4. Dispatch Coordination & Customer Servicing
- Track order status and update customers regularly
- Ensure on-time delivery (OTIF)
- Resolve customer concerns related to delivery timelines
- Coordinate with logistics and operations teams
5. Payment Follow-ups & Credit Monitoring
- Track outstanding payments
- Follow up with customers for timely collections
- Monitor customer credit limits
- Support finance team in reducing receivables
6. Cross-Selling & Business Expansion
- Identify upselling opportunities within existing accounts
- Promote additional product grades / sizes where applicable
- Support business development initiatives with field sales team
7. Market Intelligence Support
- Track customer buying trends
- Monitor competitor pricing inputs from customers
- Share demand insights with management
