Job Description:
A Store Department Executive in a Refractory Ceramic Products manufacturing unit is responsible for managing the inventory of raw materials (such as bauxite, magnesite, alumina), consumables, spare parts, and finished refractory products. This role ensures uninterrupted production by managing material inwards, storage, and issuance while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy in inventory records. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management & Stock Control: Maintain accurate records of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods using ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Tally), including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and material issue registers.
  • Raw Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and store refractory raw materials (e.g., magnesia, silica, bauxite, binders) ensuring proper identification and storage conditions to prevent deterioration.
  • Material Issuance & Coordination: Issue raw materials to the production shop floor based on authorized indents and ensure timely supply to avoid production stoppages.
  • Physical Verification: Conduct regular (fortnightly/monthly/quarterly) physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with system inventory records.
  • Vendor & Purchase Coordination: Coordinate with the purchase department regarding incoming material dispatches, short/damaged goods reporting, and vendor documentation.
  • Finished Goods & Dispatch: Manage the storage of finished refractory products (bricks, castables) and assist in loading and documentation for dispatch.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain 5S standards, ensuring the store area is clean, safe, and organized according to safety regulations for chemical and material handling. 
    Required Qualifications & Skills
 
  • Education: Graduate in any discipline (B.Sc./B.Com preferred) or Diploma in Material Management/Logistics.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management, preferably in a chemical, ceramic, or manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM Module preferred) and MS Office (Excel).
  • Functional Knowledge: Familiarity with inventory control techniques (FIFO/FEFO), raw material types, and safety protocols.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage material discrepancies. 
    Typical Physical Demands
    The role may require physical stamina to lift, move, and organize raw materials and finished products, and to perform stock audits in manufacturing environments.
