Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Programming: Complete setting and programming of CNC and HMC machines, including tool selection, parameter setting, and creating or editing Fanuc programs.
- NPD Project Management: Lead NPD projects from initial concept to full production, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle times and minimize defects.
- Technical Documentation: Create essential production documentation, such as setup sheets, CNC programs (often using software like NX CAM), and routings.
- Quality & Inspection: Perform visual inspections and root cause analysis for any rejections to ensure compliance with standards like IATF.
- Tooling & Fixtures: Manage tool offsets, fixture alignments, and install necessary tools for production runs.

Setup and prove out of new parts on HMC machines with 100% CMM and manual inspection ok.
- Ensure right alignment and clamping, adjust offsets, tool lengths. , and cutting parameters for optimal performance.
- Detailed study of component drawing, GD&T requirements, process documents, propose right cutting tool strategy, methods, cutting tool selection.
- Adjust cutting feeds and speeds during the first-off run to optimize cycle times and tool life.
- Troubleshoot program errors and make necessary offsets or code adjustments to meet tolerances.
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions, vibration, or tool wear.
- Perform "First Off" inspection to verify part dimensions against the drawing before going to next part.
- Use precision measuring instruments (Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, CMM) to ensure adherence to tolerances.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance (checking oil levels, coolant concentration, chip conveyor operation).
- Ensure the machine and surrounding area are clean (5S standard).
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Conduct toolpath simulations and dry runs to ensure error-free machining
- Collaborate with MFT, production, quality, CMM teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
- Troubleshoot machining issues & work on continues improvement to reduce cutting tool consumption, improve the product quality & reduce the cycle time reduction.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years in a machine shop environment, specifically with 5-axis or HMC machines.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Fanuc controls, tool room operations, and precision machining.
- Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical blueprints.
- Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
