Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Execution of DA40 NG aircraft with Austro engine AE300 taxying and engine ground run & tests, including pre-start checks, engine start, monitoring and recording of vital parameters, and safe maneuvering of aircraft on ground as per DGCA-approved procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out pre-start inspections and checks as per approved procedures.

• Aircraft engine start-up, shutdown, and ground run activities in compliance with DGCA regulations, OEM manuals, and company procedures.

• Monitor, record, and report DA40 NG aircraft parameters during engine ground runs and taxying, including Austro engine AE300 RPM, ECU indications, oil and coolant temperatures and pressures, fuel parameters, electrical system status, CAS warnings/cautions, and G1000 annunciations, ensuring all values remain within OEM and DGCA‑approved limits.

• Aircraft taxying operations, ensuring safe ground maneuvering, area clearance, and effective communication with ground personnel.

• Propeller ground run and propeller balancing activities as per approved procedures, using designated tools and test equipment under supervision.

• Identify, communicate, and document any abnormal indications, vibrations, warnings, or deviations observed during engine operation or ground movement.

• Ensure strict adherence to DGCA safety requirements, FOD control practices, and human factors principles during all ground and engine operation activities.

• Maintain accurate documentation of ground run data, parameter recordings, and observations in aircraft technical logs and maintenance records.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Holds a valid and current CAR-66 AME Licence in Category B1, appropriately type-rated for DA40 NG aircraft with Austro AE300 engine.

• Qualified to operate aircraft radiotelephony (RT) where radio communication is required Or, if RT qualification is not held, able to operate under the condition of being accompanied by a duly qualified RT licence holder, as endorsed on the permit.

• Conversant with aerodrome signs, markings, lighting systems, and ATC signals and standard phraseology, as applicable to safe aircraft ground operations.

• Capable of understanding, complying with, and executing ATC instructions and procedures to meet the operational standards required for safe aircraft movement on the aerodrome.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience working in an MRO, aircraft manufacturing, flying training organization (FTO), or airline environment.

• Experience operating in controlled aerodrome environments, coordinating with ATC and ground support teams.

• Has received formal training in aircraft taxying, and whose taxying competency has been assessed and approved by an operator’s pilot qualified on DA40 NG aircraft with Austro AE300 engine.
