PPC Manager – Production Planning & Control (GP/CRCA)

Job Description:

Role Overview
This is a mission-critical role focused on daily, weekly, and strategic planning of steel processing, ensuring zero chaos, maximum yield, and minimum wastage. You will bridge business goals and factory execution—aligning orders, material, machine availability, nesting logic, and downstream requirements.
You will be the nerve centre for production movement and must own rejection tracking, scrap disposal, claim settlements, MOMs with suppliers, and strong coordination with QC, SCM, Sales, and Shop Floor teams.

Key Responsibilities
 Production Planning & Order Execution

• Collect requirements proactively from SCM, CAMs, and Business Heads.
• Plan production cycles based on orders, nesting optimization, and raw material flow.
• Coordinate with Shop Floor Supervisors, Operators, Production Manager to execute plans seamlessly.
• Adjust plans dynamically based on mill availability, price movements, buyer readiness, and seasonal trends.

Rejection & Scrap Management

• Own the end-to-end rejection handling process:
• Assess rejection reasons with QC
• Call AE and CAM
• Get MOM drafted and uploaded on the supplier’s system
• Push for maximum claim value recovery
• Dispose rejected material with support from management
• Ensure shop floor is cleared and inventory is updated
• Prepare detailed rejection & scrap analysis reports, with solid supporting documentation and proactive root cause strategy.
• Work with QC to reduce recurring rejections and prepare compelling narratives for steel manufacturers to acknowledge quality issues.

Strategic Foresight & Market Awareness

• Track and anticipate market dynamics: demand/supply gaps, mill production schedules, buyer seasonality, and RM availability.
• Forecast needs and propose order strategies aligned with real-time market intelligence.
• Nesting, Optimization & Yield Maximization
• Ensure optimal nesting practices to maximize yield and minimize scrap.
• Work with the operations team and software (if any) to continuously improve nesting logic.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a connector between SCM, QC, BD, Plant, Dispatch, CAMs, and Top Management.
• Own coordination and follow-ups till closure—no loose ends, no excuses.
• Be present, persuasive, and persistent in aligning teams for timely execution.

Who We’re Looking For

• Must-Haves 8+ years of experience in PPC roles in steel / metal / processing industries.
• Deep understanding of coil-based operations, order nesting, rejection reasoning, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with SCM practices, supplier claims, and mill behavior.
• Strong coordination skills across plant, quality, commercial, and sales functions.
• Prior experience handling claim settlements, supplier coordination, and MOM documentation.
