Job Description:
Position: Unit Asst. Manager - Reprocessing
Location: Silvassa
Experience: 4 - 8 Years
Industry: Packaging
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of plastic recycling processes including sorting, shredding, washing, drying, extrusion, pelletizing, and packing.
- Ensure production targets (output, yield, quality) are met as per business requirements.
- Optimize machine utilization, throughput, and process efficiency.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all plant activities.
- Ensure recycled products meet defined quality standards (MFI, contamination level, moisture, color,density).
- Coordinate with QA/QC for testing, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Handle customer audits and quality-related complaints.
- Plan and monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance of recycling machinery and utilities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Support commissioning of new machinery and process upgrades.
- Ensure continuous availability of plastic scrap / post-consumer waste / post-industrial waste.
- Control yield losses, wastage, and inventory variances.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for scrap sourcing and dispatch planning.
- Ensure strict adherence to EHS norms, pollution control guidelines, and factory safety standards.
- Maintain compliance with CPCB / SPCB, EPR, ESG, ISO 9001/14001, and local statutory requirements.
- Lead safety trainings, audits, and incident investigations.
- Lead, train, and develop operators, supervisors, and technicians.
- Manage manpower planning, productivity, shift scheduling, and discipline.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor plant KPIs: cost per kg, power consumption, yield, downtime, rejection, and OEE.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and operational excellence projects.
- Prepare MIS reports, production dashboards, and monthly performance reviews.
- Implement Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Support sustainability goals including usage of PCR materials, traceability, and waste reduction.
- Explore new recycling technologies and process improvements.
- Manage complete plant operations along with maintaining 5S & Safety.
- Coordinating with sourcing and store to keep minimum inventory of RM. Coordinating with user departments to keep flow of finished goods.
- Drive results by optimizing resources thereby contribution to organizational drive of cost optimization
- Establish operational excellence by initiating energy and cost saving projects in the plant towards sustainability objectives aiming for continual improvements
- EHS: Align activities related to corporate and Crown Objectives on Environmental Health and Safety
