Job Description:
An electrician in steel manufacturing installs, maintains, and repairs high/low-voltage industrial systems (cranes, furnaces, motors) to ensure safe, continuous operations. Candidates need 2–7 years of experience in heavy industrial environments, with expertise in PLC/AC/DC drives, troubleshooting, and safety compliance to minimize production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown repairs on HT/LT panels, motors, and transformers.
- Production Support: Troubleshoot and fix issues with furnaces (EAF/LRF), overhead cranes, and conveyor systems.
- Electrical Installations: Install, test, and commission new electrical infrastructure, including wiring and conduit systems.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to industrial safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and earthing checks.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues using electrical drawings, schematics, and testing equipment.
- PLC Operations: Maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLC) and automation sensors.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–7 years, preferably in a steel plant, heavy industry, or manufacturing facility.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial power systems, control circuits, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a high-temperature, high-noise industrial environment, often requiring shift work.
- Problem-Solving: Strong aptitude for quick, effective troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
