SR. COAL ACCOUNTANT FOR COAL WASHERY - BILASPUR , CHHATTISGARH

The Senior Coal Accountant is responsible for managing and controlling all accounting, costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting activities related to coal washery operations. The role ensures accurate tracking of coal processing losses, yield, stock reconciliation, and compliance with statutory and internal audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

• Maintain complete accounting records of coal procurement, washing, production, and dispatch.
• Record and reconcile raw coal, washed coal, rejects, and by-products.
• Ensure accurate cost allocation for coal washing operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to washery operations.

2. Inventory & Stock Control

• Monitor coal stock (raw coal, clean coal, middlings, rejects).
• Conduct physical stock verification and reconciliation with book records.
• Analyze coal yield and recovery percentages.
• Identify and report stock variance and losses.

3. Costing & MIS Reporting

• Prepare coal washing cost sheets (cost per ton of washed coal).
• Analyze plant efficiency, yield ratio, and production losses.
• Develop MIS reports for management decision-making.
• Track operational KPIs (input-output ratio, washery efficiency).

4. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with GST, mining regulations, and company accounting policies.
• Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors.
• Maintain documentation for coal dispatch, weighbridge records, and royalty calculations.
• Support audit queries and financial inspections.

5. Coordination with Operations

• Work closely with washery plant, logistics, and dispatch teams.
• Verify weighbridge data and coal movement records.
• Assist in production planning and inventory forecasting.

Required Qualifications

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
• Professional certification (CA/ICWA) preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of industrial accounting and cost accounting.

Required Experience

• 5–10+ years in coal industry, mining, or coal washery accounting.
• Experience in handling bulk commodities inventory is essential.
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle) preferred.
