Job Profile

Designation - Production Manager

Reporting to GM Plant Operations

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations while driving digital transformation initiatives across the plant. The role is responsible for production planning, process optimization, manpower management, quality compliance, productivity improvement, automation adoption, and implementation of Industry 4.0 practices to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Plan, organize, and control day-to-day production activities to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
  • Monitor production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Improve production efficiency, capacity utilization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Coordinate with SCM, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and Dispatch teams for smooth operations.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety norms, and quality standards.

Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze production losses and develop corrective/preventive actions.
  • Drive cost reduction and waste elimination projects.
  • Improve cycle time, rejection control, and productivity.

Digital Transformation & Industry 4.0

  • Lead plant digitalization initiatives and smart manufacturing projects.
  • Implement ERP/MES systems for production tracking and reporting.
  • Drive digitization of production records, machine monitoring, and dashboards.
  • Develop real-time MIS and data analytics for decision-making.
  • Coordinate automation projects including IoT, barcode systems, and production traceability.
  • Promote paperless manufacturing and digital workflow systems.
  • Work with IT and automation vendors for technology implementation.
  • Build a data-driven production culture within the factory.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor production supervisors, engineers, and operators.
  • Conduct training programs on production systems and digital tools.
  • Ensure discipline, engagement, and performance management of production teams.
  • Develop succession planning and skill enhancement programs.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, and statutory manufacturing standards.
  • Coordinate with QA for quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and drive zero-accident culture.
  • Ensure audit readiness and documentation compliance.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Chemical Engineering.
  • MBA Operations preferred.
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma / TPM / Industry 4.0 will be an added advantage.

 

Experience

  • 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing/production operations.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in digital manufacturing transformation preferred.
  • Exposure to ERP/MES implementation and automation projects.
