Job Description:
A Production Officer for a Sinter Plant oversees daily iron ore sintering operations, ensuring production targets, sinter quality, and safety standards are met. Responsibilities include controlling raw material mixing (coke, fines), optimizing burner performance, managing shift manpower, and troubleshooting equipment to maximize sinter productivity. [1, 2]
Core Responsibilities
- Production Monitoring: Manage shift-wise operations to achieve hourly and daily production targets.
- Process Optimization: Monitor and adjust key parameters like burner temperature, raw mix moisture, and burn-through point to optimize quality and yield.
- Raw Material Handling: Oversee the mixing and conveying of iron ore fines, coke, and flux to ensure proper green mix preparation.
- Quality Control: Ensure sinter cake meets physical and chemical specifications for the blast furnace.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety regulations (5S), environmental compliance, and ensure safe working conditions for personnel.
- Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with the engineering team for preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain shift reports, production logs, and equipment status records. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Key Requirements
- Education: Typically a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Sinter Plant operations, with knowledge of sintering machines (e.g., OPERATOR SINTER PLANT EQUIPMENTS techniques).
- Skills: Proficiency in DCS/SCADA operation, strong troubleshooting abilities, and knowledge of raw material blending
