JOB DESCRIPTION OF GM OPERATION

REPORTS TO - COO

 

Job Location:- Kolkata

 

 Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Structural Engineering or equivalent;
  • 18-21 years of experience operation management with minimum of 8-10 years in a manufacturing / plant operations and in leadership role.

Age – 45 yrs-50 yrs 

 

Desired

  • Collaborate with business development teams in securing tenders, contracts and PSU projects.
  • Provide intelligence on policy changes, procurement procedures, and industry opportunities.
  • Leverage regulatory networks to enhance the company’s market presence.
  • Review contract, design drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Interact with clients, field personnel, engineering, subcontractors, and the manufacturing team during all stages of the project to identify any bottlenecks or clarification or inform any change of scope.
  • Investigate, and re-engineer where appropriate, all processes and systems within procurement to deliver the procurement strategy and action plan.
  • Develop and implement contracts register to cover all contracts with vendors/suppliers and enable signed document tracking, re-negotiation timetables and regular best value reviews.
  • Responsible for understanding the specific/unique items and equipment’s required by the various business units.
  • Be responsible for, and manage effectively, capital and revenue expenditure within the budgets set to deliver both cash-able and non-cash-able savings against agreed targets.
  • Develop accurate reports to all levels of management to enable proper evaluation of proposals and information.
  • Prioritise and manage all procurement activities using a range of contracts and contract management techniques and provide management information as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with various Project Managers along with purchase leads for understanding their purchase requirements.
  • Priorities production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Notify Marketing team in case of deviation from scheduled plan for proper communication to Customer.
  • Oversee the project execution from; Design review, detailing, manufacturing, installation,and project close out.
  • Interact with marketing, engineering, subcontractors, and the manufacturing team duringall stages of the project to identify any bottlenecks or clarification or inform any change of scope.
  • Review contract, design drawings, specifications, and bid documents to clearly define the scope of work and communicate to concerned department.
  • Manages development of project plan by considering scope, hours and duration keeping in mind the lead time of production.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department for timely payments to vendors.
  • Ensure interest of the plant is given appropriate consideration while negotiating terms of contract for procurement.
