Chartered Accountant (CA) / Finance Head
Job Description:
- Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified, experienced Chartered Accountant to take responsibilities of the entire finance function for the Group of Companies. This is a strategic leadership role. The ideal candidate will not only ensure statutory compliance and accurate bookkeeping but will also act as a business partner to the management. You will be responsible for leading the Accounts team, overseeing internal audits, and driving financial efficiency across our diverse portfolio in Real Estate, Hospitality, and Entertainment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Finance & Accounts Management
- Consolidation: Lead the consolidation of accounts for all three entities (Real Estate, Hospitality, Entertainment) to present a unified financial picture of the Group to the management.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and supervise the internal accounts team (accountants, clerks, and bookkeepers) to ensure timely closure of books (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with Ind AS (Indian Accounting Standards) or applicable standards.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor fund flow, optimize working capital, and ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing projects and operational needs across all three sectors.
- Budgeting & MIS: Prepare annual budgets and provide monthly MIS (Management Information Systems) reports to the Directors, highlighting variances, cost centers, and profitability per project/vertical.
- Internal Audit & Controls
- Internal Audit Setup: Design, implement, and lead the internal audit function. Since this role handles internal audit, you must ensure an independent and robust control environment.
- Process Audit: Conduct regular audits of operational processes—particularly critical in Real Estate (project-wise accounting) and Hospitality/Entertainment (high cash transactions, inventory management).
- SOP Implementation: Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for procurement, vendor payments, revenue booking, and expense management to minimize leakage and fraud.
- Taxation & Compliance
- Direct Taxation: Oversee the computation and filing of Income Tax returns for all entities and individuals (promoters). Handle TDS compliance, advance tax, and assessments/appeals in coordination with external consultants.
- Indirect Taxation: Ensure 100% compliance with GST (returns, reconciliation, input tax credit, audits). Given the mix of businesses (Real Estate—RERA, Hospitality—Luxury Tax), specialized compliance is critical.
- RERA Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) requirements for the Real Estate vertical, including project-wise fund accounting and quarterly reporting.
- Statutory Audits: Act as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors, tax auditors, and government authorities.
- Sector-Specific Oversight
- Real Estate: Monitor project-wise profitability, cost overruns, contractor billing, and adherence to RERA deposit rules.
- Hospitality: Oversee inventory management (F&B), daily revenue reconciliation (restaurant/hotel management software), and cost control for perishable items.
- Entertainment: Manage ticketing revenue reconciliation, high-volume cash handling controls, and royalty/payment structures related to events or partnerships.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Zero statutory non-compliance (GST, Income Tax, RERA).
- Can handle Legal matters.
- Reduction in working capital cycle and optimization of cash flow.
- Timely closure of monthly accounts (within 7-10 days of month end).
- Successful implementation of internal audit findings and reduction in audit observations.
- Accuracy of project-wise profitability reporting.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI. Semi-qualified CAs with extensive relevant experience.
- Experience: 5–8 years of post-qualification experience.
- Mandatory: Experience in Real Estate (RERA exposure) is essential.
- Highly Preferred: Experience in Hospitality (Hotels/Restaurants) or Entertainment (Multiplex/Event Management).
- Proven experience managing a team of at least 3–5 finance staff.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Tally ERP / SAP / Zoho Books or similar ERP software.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Deep knowledge of GST, Income Tax, and RERA Act.
Personal Attributes
- Leadership: Ability to lead by example, mentor a local team, and manage cross-functional stakeholders (Project Managers, Hotel General Managers).
- Integrity: High level of honesty and ethical standards to manage internal audits effectively.
- Problem Solver: Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with diverse business models.
- Location: Must be willing to work from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra (local candidates preferred, or those willing to relocate).
- Compensation
- Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience and industry standards (Negotiable for the right candidate).
Benefits: As per company policy
