Job Description:
The EHS Assistant Manager independently manages, implements, and monitors the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management System across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on sustaining shop-floor safety, ensuring zero accidents, mitigating risks, maintaining statutory environmental standards, and driving a proactive safety culture. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Coordination 
  • Enforce Regulations: Achieve 100% legal compliance with the Factories Act (1948), Telangana State Factory Rules, Environmental Protection Act, and OSHA standards.
  • Liaise with Authorities: Coordinate with state bodies including the Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), Telangana Factories Department, and state Fire Services.
  • License Management: Procure, renew, and maintain all mandatory EHS permits, Consents to Establish/Operate (CFE/CFO), and regulatory approvals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and file accurate periodic statutory returns and compliance dashboards for corporate management.
2. Shop-Floor Safety & Risk Assessment
  • Hazard Control: Conduct routine Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for process machinery and maintenance activities.
  • Work Permits: Manage and audit the Work Permit System (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space, Height Work).
  • Surveillance Operations: Conduct frequent shop-floor inspections to identify and immediately resolve unsafe acts or unsafe conditions. 
3. Incident Investigation & Audits
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents using standard mechanisms like the "5-Why" analysis.
  • CAPA Tracking: Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and closely monitor non-conformities until absolute closure.
  • EHS Audits: Lead internal EHS audits and facilitate external international certification audits such as ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS). 
4. Training, Emergency Preparedness & Culture
  • Safety Inductions: Design and execute EHS onboarding modules for new hires, contractors, and on-site vendor laborers.
  • Drills & Training: Conduct regular firefighting training, mock emergency drills, and daily Toolbox Talks (TBT).
  • Behavior-Based Safety: Deploy behavior-based safety initiatives to encourage active floor-level participation in hazard reporting. 

Requirement Description: 

Mandatory Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech/B.E. (Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical) or B.Sc. (Environmental Science/Chemistry).

Mandatory Certification One-year Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety from SBTET (Telangana/Andhra Pradesh).

Professional Experience Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
