Job Description:

Role Summary:
The role requires providing L2/L3 Network/Hardware hardware support for servers, storage, 3PAR and
networking equipment. Providing guidance to L1 support staff for Installation or break-fix support of servers,
storage devices and networking equipment and taking incidents through to closure. Occasionally, for complex
issues, Senior Engineer may need to visit customer site to support field engineer.
Dealing with customer contact points and ensuring their satisfaction is a key requirement of the role.
Responsibilities:
• L3 / L2 support for hardware/ Network calls
• Get server logs from customer, if possible, and analyse them for proper diagnosis
• Guide attending field engineer to resolve the incident to the satisfaction of the customer
• Attend to the incident personally in the field if required
• Ability to break complex problems down into actionable solutions
• Maintain & install patch and revision upgrades, latest firmware on all storage and switch systems
• Research, evaluate, install, configure, test, and maintain innovative storage-related computing hardware
and software systems, coordinating with vendors as applicable
• Provide technical leadership, influence and partner with fellow engineers to architect, design and build
mission critical storage systems that can stand the test of scale and availability, while reducing operational
overhead
• Inform consultants and operations staff of system events (new features, failures, patches) and the impact
of these on the user community
• Conduct short training courses for junior engineers to refresh their technical knowledge
• Enhance own technical knowledge by finding relevant documents on new devices/ models launched by
OEMs and familiarising with maintenance requirements for such devices
• Lead the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of complex network infrastructures,
including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network connectivity and performance issues.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and practices
• Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of active network devices
• Develop and deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities
• Lead incident response and manage escalated support tickets, ensuring timely and effective
resolution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met and deliverables are
achieved.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network and hardware configurations,
troubleshooting procedures, and best practices
• Design local area networks with multiple layers of switches, routers and network security
devices
• Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term
efficiency of network
• Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs
• Identify issues in specific devices and resolve through hardware repair or replacement
• Conduct audits of network security infrastructure and identify vulnerabilities
• Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer
comprehensive advice and instructions

Required Skills:

• Mandatory
o All Servers/Storage eg. 3PAR, MSA, Dell Epsilon, IBM storage, etc./HPE Synergy/tape library
hardware problem diagnosis, replacement of parts like HDD, Power Supply, RAM, Motherboard,
etc.
o Knowledge of diagnostic systems/tools for HPE, Dell, Lenovo/IBM equipment
o Server installation, testing, cleaning and troubleshooting
o Knowledge of RAID configurations and tools used in IBM/HPE/Dell servers/Storage/3PAR etd
o System check-up, on-site setup, tune-up, assessment and diagnostics
o Installation, repairing or rebuild of Windows server/Linux operating systems
o Ability to acquire knowledge on various devices and provide guidance to junior staff
o Help improve the quality, performance, and resiliency of our product
o Proven experience as network specialist or relevant position
o Proven track record in leading technical teams and managing escalated support requests
o Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
o Good communication skills
o Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
o Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
o Candidates with valid CCNA or similar certification preferred

o Configuration of Firewalls, Routers, Switches and WLAN controllers
o Installation, configuration, troubleshooting of storage devices.

Experience: 6+ years
Minimum academic qualifications: 3 year Diploma in Engineering/B.Tech/B.E
