The group seeks an experienced Chartered Accountant to lead the finance and accounts function, ensure statutory compliance, strengthen financial governance, and support strategic growth across all verticals.

Role Summary

The Finance Head will be responsible for the overall financial management, accounting systems, budgeting, audit coordination, statutory compliance, taxation, fund management, and financial planning of the organization and its associated entities.

The role requires strong leadership capabilities, experience in handling multi-entity operations, and sound knowledge of trust accounting, educational institution finance, hospital accounting systems, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Strategy

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Monitor financial health and provide strategic recommendations to management.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of funds across all institutions and trusts.
  • Prepare MIS reports, financial dashboards, and analytical reports for management review.

 

 

Accounting & Financial Controls

  • Supervise accounting operations across schools, colleges, trusts, and hospitals.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts and financial records.
  • Establish internal financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor receivables, payables, vendor payments, and institutional expenditures.
  • Ensure timely preparation and consolidation of financial statements.

Trust, NGO & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Trust Act provisions
    • Charity Commissioner requirements
    • Income Tax Act
    • GST regulations
    • FCRA provisions (if applicable)
    • TDS and payroll compliances
  • Handle registrations, renewals, and statutory filings for trusts and institutions.
  • Coordinate with government authorities, auditors, bankers, and consultants.

Audit & Taxation

  • Lead statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
  • Oversee direct and indirect taxation matters.
  • Ensure timely filing of:
    • Income Tax Returns
    • GST Returns
    • TDS Returns
    • Audit Reports
    • Regulatory submissions

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Prepare annual institutional and departmental budgets.
  • Monitor budget utilization and variance analysis.
  • Implement cost optimization initiatives without affecting operational quality.
  • Control hospital operational costs, educational institution expenditures, and administrative overheads.

Banking & Fund Management

  • Manage banking relationships and institutional financing.
  • Monitor fund flow, investments, grants, donations, and utilization of charitable funds.
  • Handle working capital management and financial risk assessment.
  • Ensure proper fund allocation for ongoing projects and expansion plans.

 

 

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor finance, accounts, billing, and audit teams across entities.
  • Build accountability and process discipline within finance departments.
  • Coordinate with principals, administrators, hospital management, and trustees for financial matters.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
  • Additional qualifications such as MBA (Finance), CS, or ICWA/CMA will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in handling:
    • Educational institutions
    • Charitable trusts/NGOs
    • Hospitals/Healthcare institutions
    • Multi-entity group accounting
  • Prior experience in leadership or CFO-level roles preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Expertise in trust accounting and charitable institution compliance.
  • Knowledge of hospital billing and healthcare finance systems.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software and advanced MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
