WELDER FOR COAL WASHERY - SUNDARGARH , ODISHA

Job Description:

The Welder is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and repair work on plant structures, equipment, and pipelines used in coal washery operations. The role ensures safe, efficient, and continuous operation of mechanical systems by maintaining structural integrity and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding (ARC, MIG, TIG, or gas welding as required) on plant machinery and structures.
• Repair and maintain conveyors, chutes, hoppers, pipelines, tanks, and structural steelwork.
• Fabricate metal parts as per technical drawings and instructions.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance in the washery plant.
• Inspect equipment for cracks, corrosion, or wear and report defects.
• Ensure proper alignment and fitting of fabricated components.
• Work on heavy industrial equipment in dusty, noisy coal handling environments.
• Follow maintenance schedules and support shutdown/overhaul activities.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good condition.
• Comply strictly with safety procedures, including hot work permits and PPE usage.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ITI / Trade Certificate in Welding (Fitter/Welder trade preferred).
• Experience in industrial welding, preferably in coal washery, mining, cement, or steel plant.
• Knowledge of ARC welding, gas cutting, and basic fabrication.
• Ability to read technical drawings and measurements.
• Understanding of safety standards in hazardous environments.
• Physical fitness to work in challenging industrial conditions.

Experience:

• Fresher with ITI OR
• 1–3+ years of relevant industrial welding experience preferred.
