Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Vendor Development: Actively identify and onboard new, reliable vendors to expand the supply base and ensure competitive pricing.
- Procurement Practices: Implement and follow standardized purchasing protocols to maximize the company’s financial benefits and ensure transparency.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations for high-value raw materials (Coke, Manganese Ore, Carbon Paste) and specialized machinery spares
2. Inventory & Stock Control
- Critical Item Monitoring: Maintain a "zero-shortage" environment by closely monitoring the stock levels of critical items and consumables.
- Stock Optimization: Balance inventory levels to prevent capital being locked in excess stock while ensuring production never halts due to lack of supplies.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Production Department to verify that received items meet quality specifications.
3. Logistics & Compliance
- Transporter Coordination: Manage relationships with transport partners to ensure timely delivery and optimized freight costs.
- Corrective Actions: Execute proper deductions and legal/commercial actions against vendors for goods received that fail to meet quality or quantity standards.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on procurement costs, stock health, and vendor performance.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Proven track record in procurement, specifically within the Mining or Ferro Alloys industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with industrial raw materials (Coke, Manganese Ore, Carbon Paste, Electrodes) and mechanical spares.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to forecast demand and analyze market trends to make informed buying decisions.
- Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with the Production and Finance departments.
Working Conditions & Expectations
- Location: This is an on-site role based at the Mines Office in Pandhurna district, MP.
- Commitment: Standard hours are 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM; however, the manager must be reachable for urgent procurement needs or logistical emergencies outside these hours.
- Accommodation: The company provides free Bachelor accommodation and meals at the mine site. Alternatively, the candidate may reside in Sausar (15 mins away) at their own expense.
