Job Description:
Rresponsible for creating, developing, and optimizing specialized manufacturing tools, press tools, fixtures, and dies. This mid-to-senior role focuses on enhancing machining efficiency, reducing production costs, and ensuring precision in heavy engineering and sheet metal components.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Tool & Fixture Design: Design and develop custom jigs, fixtures, press tools, and assembly fixtures based on production requirements and customer drawings.
- CAD & Drafting: Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models using software like CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate closely with the production and process engineering teams to improve machining efficiency, optimize cycle times, and resolve inspection/quality issues.
- GD&T Application: Apply and read Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure all tooling meets stringent engineering tolerances.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, manage drawing revisions, and analyze data to improve operating methods continuously.
Role Requirements
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in tool design, preferably within heavy engineering, automotive, or industrial machinery manufacturing.
- Education: B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical or Industrial/Production Engineering.
- Software Skills: High proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, or UG NX).
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of metal cutting, CNC machining fixtures, press working, and lean manufacturing concepts
