Job Title: SAW Wielding Operator

Experience- 2+ years

Location:  Oman

Salary- 250-300 OMR

Job Responsibilities-

• Parameter Configuration: Set up and adjust machine parameters according to the Welding Procedure Specification(WPS), including welding current, voltage, wire feed speed, and travel speed.
• Flux Management: Ensure the proper flux type is used and that the flux hopper is full and properly positioned to deliver consistent, & granular flux to the weld joint.
• Machine Inspection: Verify the submerged arc tractor, carriage, or boom is functioning correctly, including proper grounding (work return cables) and electrode wire feeding.
• Joint Preparation: Ensure the work piece is secure, clean, and properly aligned,, particularly for large, heavy-duty components
• Start/Stop Control: Properly initiate the arc (often using steel wool or high-frequency units) and manage the stop/crater fill to avoid defects.
• Welding Position - operator has to know the welding positions
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE, although a welding hood is often not required for the arc itself. Ensure good ventilation to handle potential fumes.
• Flux/Slag Disposal: Safely remove hot flux and welding slag, disposing of it in designated steel bins.
•  Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the tractor, wire feeder, and flux handling equipment.
• Never Leave Running: Never leave an operating sub-arc machine unattended.
• Technical drawing knowledge - Interpretation of technical drawings and weld symbols.
• Understanding of flux-wire combinations and their effect on mechanical properties.
• Ability to fix common defects such as porosity or cracking.

Requirements-

2. Welding Position - operator has to know the welding positions
3. Blueprint Reads: Ability to read engineering prints and interpret welding symbols
4. Basic understanding of mechanical adjustments, torch alignments, and routine equipment maintenance
5. Safety and Material knowledge: Understanding of workplace safety standards (OSHA compliance) and handling Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPE)
