Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Quality Leader to drive quality excellence across our Foundry Division in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate brings over 20 years of hands-on experience specifically in Grey Iron and Steel castings, tasked with implementing zero-defect manufacturing processes, enhancing product reliability, and ensuring strict compliance with global quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Strategy & Leadership: Spearhead the overall Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) QMS operations for the foundry division.
- Defect Reduction: Analyze complex casting defects (e.g., blowholes, porosity, shrinkage, sand inclusions) and establish CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to minimize scrap and rework.
- Process Standardization: Develop and implement strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for melting, molding, core-making, and fettling processes.
- Metallurgical & Mechanical Testing: Oversee metallurgical lab testing, chemical composition analysis, mechanical properties testing, and dimensional inspections.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure finished products meet international standards and maintain ISO/IATF certifications.
- Supplier Quality: Collaborate with sourcing teams to evaluate and monitor raw material quality (scrap, pig iron, ferroalloys, sand).
- Team Mentorship: Lead and train shop-floor quality engineers, inspectors, and lab technicians.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Minimum 20 years of core quality experience in Grey Iron (GI) and Steel Casting foundries.
- Skills: Strong expertise in Sand Testing, Spectro analysis, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and metallurgical micro/macro structural analysis.
- Certifications: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is highly preferred.
Compensation
- Budget: Up to 25 LPA (depending on the candidate’s expertise and last drawn salary).
