Job Description:
A reputed steel manufacturing company engaged in large-scale industrial production is hiring a DGM Production to oversee plant operations, production planning, and manufacturing efficiency. - Support and manage overall production and manufacturing activities of the plant.
- Plan production schedules and monitor operational performance regularly.
- Supervise shop floor operations, manpower utilization, and machine productivity.
- Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, stores, and dispatch departments for smooth workflow.
- Monitor production efficiency, downtime, wastage, and resource utilization.
- Implement process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
- Prepare production MIS reports, operational analysis, and management updates.
- Lead and guide production teams, supervisors, and shift staff effectively.
- Support management in capacity planning, cost optimization, and plant development activities.
- Candidates with strong production leadership experience in steel/manufacturing industries preferred.

Company Profile
The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
