As part of our expansion, we are establishing a new manufacturing facility and building a strong operations team to support world-class manufacturing practices.

Role Summary

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing incoming, in-process, and final product quality across Ecofy’s molded-fiber tableware production lines. The role involves establishing quality systems, ensuring compliance with food-contact and compostability standards, handling customer complaints through CAPA processes, and supporting certification and audit activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inspection plans for:
  • Raw pulp
  • Additives
  • Finished products
• Conduct and supervise quality tests including:
  • GSM testing
  • Moisture analysis
  • Oil and water resistance testing
  • Compression strength testing
  • Dimensional accuracy checks
  • Migration limit testing
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and measuring equipment.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for:
  • Internal quality rejections
  • Customer complaints
  • Process deviations
• Drive timely closure of CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
• Prepare and maintain:
  • Certificates of Analysis (COA)
  • Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Product specification sheets
  • Quality documentation and records
• Support and maintain certifications including:
  • FSSAI
  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 22000
  • BRCGS
  • BPI
  • TÜV OK Compost
  • FDA compliance
• Conduct supplier audits and evaluate new raw material vendors.
• Train production teams on:
  • Quality standards
  • Defect identification
  • Visual inspection methods
  • Reference sample usage
• Maintain and analyze quality KPIs such as:
  • First-pass yield
  • Rejection rate
  • Complaint rate (PPM)
  • Cost of poor quality

Required Qualifications & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc. in:
  • Pulp & Paper Technology
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Polymer Science
  • Packaging Technology
  • Food Technology
• 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in:
  • Molded fiber manufacturing
  • Paper industry
  • Food-contact packaging industry
• Hands-on experience with testing equipment such as:
  • GSM balance
  • Cobb tester
  • Bursting strength tester
  • Thickness gauge
  • Compression testing equipment
• Strong knowledge of:
  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 22000
  • HACCP
  • Compostability standards (EN 13432, ASTM D6400)
• Strong documentation, reporting, and audit-handling capability.
• Familiarity with statistical quality tools such as:
  • SPC
  • Control Charts
  • MSA
• Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
