Job Description:
Construction Quality Manager
Job Location:- Vadodara, Gujarat
1. About the Role
Ensure effective execution of field service quality activities by driving inspections, testing, audits, and documentation, enabling compliant and right-first-time construction and commissioning outcomes, in line with project and organisational quality standards.
2. Organisational Placement
Reports to: Project Quality Head
3. Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain Field Service Quality strategy, tools, and systems.
• Ensure quality control across construction and commissioning activities.
• Plan and allocate quality resources based on workload and project requirements.
• Support site-specific quality strategies, schedules, and execution plans.
• Conduct and facilitate audits, FMEAs (DFMEA/PFMEA), verification and validation activities.
• Ensure compliance with methods, risk assessment, and implementation of mitigation actions.
• Manage non-conformities and drive structured problem-solving activities.
• Drive continuous improvement across Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Field Services using project data.
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and translated into management system improvements.
• Monitor site quality budget and performance; escalate deviations to leadership.
• Develop team capability and ensure competency growth.
4. Decision Authority
- Authority to reject or stop non-compliant processes, components, or work.
• Initiate and assign corrective and problem-solving actions.
• Authority in team/staff management aligned with Head of Quality.
5. KPIs
- Quality compliance and audit effectiveness
• Non-conformity closure and problem-solving efficiency
• Implementation of FMEA and risk mitigation actions
• Continuous improvement and lessons learned implementation
• Site quality budget adherence
• Competency development and team capability
6. Requirements
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or similar) with at least 5 year experience in construction & commissioning Hydro power plant or similar projects
- Knowledge of business processes (Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing, Field Services)
- NDT Level II and testing qualifications (advantage
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001/ 45001 Auditor
