Senior Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description:
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Mechanical Engineer with 10–12 years of hands-on expertise in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, certification compliance, vendor development, and product costing. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in CAD tools, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and industrial certification requirements, with the ability to lead engineering activities from concept design to production and regulatory approvals.
The ideal candidate should have practical exposure to industrial products/systems requiring compliance with global and Indian standards such as ISO, ATEX, PESO, and related certification processes.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Product Development
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and industrial products using:
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- CATIA
- Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Support product lifecycle activities including concept development, prototyping, testing, validation, and engineering change management.
- Ensure design optimization for manufacturability, reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
Manufacturing & Process Engineering
- Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
- Casting
- Machining
- Fabrication
- Welding
- Assembly processes
- Prepare and manage BOM (Bill of Materials) and production documentation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams for process planning and production support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
GD&T and Engineering Standards
- Apply dimensional tolerancing and GD&T principles in product and tooling design.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Review technical drawings and manufacturing specifications for accuracy and manufacturability.
Certification & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage and support product certification and compliance activities related to:
- International Organization for Standardization standards
- ATEX compliance
- Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation approvals
- CE / Industrial safety compliance requirements
- Coordinate with certification agencies, inspection bodies, and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation required for certification submissions.
- Ensure products comply with hazardous area, industrial safety, and statutory regulations.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Vendor Development & Supplier Management
- Develop and manage vendor and supplier network for mechanical components and manufacturing services.
- Coordinate with suppliers for:
- Technical evaluation
- RFQ management
- Process capability assessment
- Quality compliance
- Cost optimization
- Conduct vendor audits and supplier qualification activities.
- Work closely with procurement, quality, and production teams for supply chain efficiency.
Costing & Commercial Engineering
- Prepare product costing, estimation, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Evaluate machining, fabrication, tooling, raw material, and assembly costs.
- Support value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
- Review supplier quotations and support commercial negotiations.

- Ability to handle cross-functional coordination and project ownership.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
